'Far too many people' in Grantham are not following lockdown rules, says PCSO

A PCSO claims "there are far too many people out and about" in Grantham during the latest lockdown.

Police community support officer (PCSO) Jackie Fulker, of Lincolnshire Police, posted on a social media site over the weekend a warning after finding people in the town "do not seem to be taking in the guidelines".

She said: "We have had to give out far too many Covid tickets over the past few weeks.

"We are still in lockdown but when we patrol Grantham this often does not look like the case. There are far too many people out and about that do not seem to be taking in the guidelines.

"Please only go out if it is essential. Wear a mask if you are able to.

"This will not go away if people do not listen and think it won't happen to them – you are not only risking yourself but others."

Coronavirus restrictions state people must only leave their homes for reasons such as essential shopping, one form of exercise per day, access childcare and to go to work if they cannot work from home.
