‘Fete Fit for a Queen’ to be held at Grantham’s railway station
A ‘Fete Fit for a Queen’ will be held at Grantham’s railway station on Saturday, June 11, to celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th birthday.
Virgin Trains is behind the event, which will take place on the station’s car park between 11am and 4pm.
There are many attractions and activities planned, including a fire engine, face painting, performances by a local dance school, a fancy dress competition, tombola, various games and stalls, a stand by the British Transport Police, a burger bar, candy floss, sweets and ice-creams, Gravity FM and Creation Station.
There will also be a focus on local business, with Virgin Trains’ pop-up shops. This initiative aims to give small businesses operating locally the opportunity to promote themselves and their produucts.
Virgin will also be raising funds for its chosen charities – the Grantham Journal Children’s Fund, Paul for Brain Recovery and Myeloma UK.
