Fire crew tackle lorry fire in Grantham

A fire crew were called to extinguish a lorry blaze on Barrowby Road, Grantham, yesterday.

The crew from Grantham arrived at the scene shortly after 9am yesterday morning.

They extinguished the blaze using one hose reel.

There was fire damage to two rear tyres of a HGV lorry and light damage by heat to mudflaps and trailer curtain.

The cause was found to be an overheating wheel rim due to a rear tyre puncture.
