Fire destroys 3,000 litres of paint thinner at Grantham business

A fire which sent clouds of black smoke over Grantham on Friday afternoon destroyed 3,000 litres of paint thinner.

Fire crews from Grantham, Sleaford, Billingborough and Newark fought the blaze at Fruehauf HGV business on Houghton Road in Grantham.

They used used two main jets to put the fire out. There were no injuries and nobody was evacuated from the site.

Nearby residents were asked to keep doors and windows shut as the fire took hold in a storage area of the site.
