Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue will be offering fire safety advice to landlords at an event in Grantham next week.

Fire Safety Officer Mark Richardson will be one of three guest speakers at the South Kesteven Landlord’s Forum meeting on September 27, between 9.30am and 12.30pm at the Guildhall Arts Centre.

Mr Richardson will be providing information and guidance on how landlords can keep their properties fire safe and meet the latest government legislation.

Steps include:

Carrying out a comprehensive fire safety risk assessment

Making sure the correct fire safety equipment is provided e.g. fire extinguishers or fitting a smoke alarm on each storey and a carbon monoxide alarm in rooms with a usable fireplace or wood burner

Ensuring escape routes are accessible at all times

Ensuring all furniture and furnishings are fire safe

Testing and maintaining equipment

The event is open to all landlords and associated professionals. To book a place email ehs@southkesteven.gov.uk or call 01476 406080.
