First Van'Elnor Trail Run takes place with 200 participants
More than 200 runners took part in one of Lincolnshire’s biggest trail runs earlier this month.
Hosted by Wigwam Holidays Millside, Barkston, runners of all ages and abilities set off on the inaugural Van’Elnor Trail Run on Saturday June 9, which was organised by experienced runner Terry Vangasse.
The 10 and five kilometre routes traversed the Lincolnshire countryside through fields, farm tracks, footpaths, bridleways and through woodland.
Competitors received a time chip and a medal for their sterling efforts.
Co-owner of Wigwam Holidays Millside, Steve Elnor, said: “We were delighted to host the start of the Van’Elnor Trail Run for its inaugural event.
“We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and with the A1 close by, our location was easily reached for both our accommodation and the competitors.
“We even had a coachload of competitors from Valley Runners, Leeds taking part.
“We are hoping to host it again next year and increase the number of competitors.”
Wigwam Holidays Millside opened in August 2017 on a small, family- run beef and sheep farm in Barkston village, offering six ensuite Wigwam cabins.
It is part of the Wigwam Holidays Franchise. The site also received funding assistance from South Kesteven district.
