You will be hard pushed to find a bigger Easter egg than that being created by Folkingham chocolatier Jan Hansen.
Using all of the confectionery skills he has gained during his 29 years in the trade, Jan has decided to make a 7ft egg by applying chocolate cladding to the frame above.
However this is not just an Easter time folly - he is creating the giant egg in order to raise funds for Grantham’s St Barnabas Hospice, by encouraging as many people as possible to visit and make a donation.
“I wanted to do something a bit different to help the hospice,” explained Jan. “I have made giant eggs before, but never this big!”
The eggs-tra special unveiling is taking place this weekend at Hansen’s Chocolate House on 13 Market Place, Folkingham. It will then remain on display for visitors in the run-up to Easter.
