Former Grantham classmates reunited after 60 years

A group of former Belton Lane Primary School pupils held a reunion on Saturday.

The pupils, who all attended the school between 1956 and 1962, met up at the Royal Queen pub, in Belton Lane.

David Law, who organised the reunion, was pleased with turnout. He said: “We shared many happy memories from our time at the school and looked at old class photos, putting names to faces, [and debating] where and what they might be doing now. It was also strange that some of us have lived in Grantham all these years yet not seen each other for so long. Everyone was pleased to meet up with old school friends, reminisce and talk about the different paths they all have taken in life. We also remembered those who are sadly no longer with us.”

David now has plans to host another reunion next year.

He added: “Everyone was keen to do it again so hopefully we can get the word out there so next time we can get more old school friends and possibly renew old friendships.”
