Former King's School boy brings quintet to town

A former King’s School pupil will be bringing his wind quintet to Grantham soon as part of a short series of concerts in the area.

Elliott Howley is one of five students who will start their fourth year in September at the Royal Academy of Music in London. They have formed a quintet, Summer Winds, and will be performing three concerts in Grantham, Peterborough and Wymondham.

The quintet will kick off the short tour with a performance at ChristChurch in Finkin Street, Grantham, which will feature an exciting and varied programme on Thursday, August 9.

The programme will feature music from the 1700s to the present day, including some jazz and folk tunes along the way.

There will be refreshments available before the concert and during the interval. Refreshments will be available from 7pm, with the music starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets for the concert are available to buy from the Guildhall Arts Centre at https://www.guildhallartscentre.com/whats-on/all-shows/summer-winds-quintet-concert or by emailing summer.winds.uk@gmail.com, and can then be reserved on the door or delivered to your home address. Tickets are priced at £7.50 for an adult, £5 for concessions and £20 for a family (two adults and two children).
