Former pupils of Grantham Girls’ Central School invited to 40th anniversary celebration

An association of former schoolgirls from Grantham is calling on old classmates to join them for their regular meetings.

The Central School Old Girls’ Association meets several times every year. A group of 54 members recently gathered at the Eden House Hotel where they enjoyed a pre-Christmas meal together and were visited by Santa bearing gifts.

The Old Girls’ Association is open to everyone who attended the Girls’ Central School in Castlegate up to its closure in 1966.

There are meetings each February, June and October. Also the members have an anniversary lunch every April.

In 2016, the 40th anniversary of these lunches will be celebrated and the call has been made to make it an extra special gatheering.

Secretary Cynthia Evans said: “If you are an ex-Central School girl please join us where you will be made very welcome. If you were once a member but wish to re-join, please feel free to do so.”
