A 15-year-old and seven friends have completed a ‘Pretty Muddy’ Cancer Research UK Race for Life in support of her mum Debs Richardson who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer,

Pictured from left are the group who took part, all from Walton Girls - Letitia Barrowcliff, Rhianna Richardson, Mary Cross, Jade-Amelia Harrington-Moore, Gail Coleman, Laura Coleman, Emily Sloan and Monica Cross.

Their run at Rother Valley Country Park in Sheffield saw them beat their fund-raising target of £500 to raise nearly £700.

Debs said: “It was very humbling for these girls to do this. It makes me cry just thinking about it.”

It follows the ‘Pretty Muddy’ race at Clumber Park in June by Debs’ colleagues at Grantham College.
