A Grantham secondary school is proud to be in the top five per cent of fund-raisers for 2014 through the justgiving.com website.

More than 400 people made up Team St Hugh’s to take part in a Race for Life schools event at West Grantham Academy St Hugh’s in June last year, running, jogging, walking and even dancing five kilometres to the finish line.

Dance teacher Gillian Brady said: “We were incredibly well supported by the family and friends of our school community and smashed our fund-raising target. This week, we received an award from JustGiving.com to let us know we were in the top five per cent of fund-raisers for 2014. This is a fantastic achievement and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored us.”

Further good news is the school has been chosen as a host for the 2015 Race for Life schools event this summer, in aid of Cancer Research UK.
