Green Party candidate Alistair McQuillan has said he thinks people are suffering from 'Brexit fatigue'.

Alistair, who works as a barman in Oakham, said: "It's been nice to get out to meet people and talk about a variety of issues.

"It's been a big range really although Brexit hasn't come up that much - I think people are suffering from Brexit fatigue.

"On the doorstep they have been talking about the hospitals, the state of local housing and welfare."

He added success for the Green Party in Rutland and Melton will be to increase their share of the vote:

"If we increase what we got last time by two or three per cent then I'll be happy.

"There are some wards where we're at 20 per cent - Uppingham is particularly strong and also Newport in Melton."
