Forget Glastonbury, V Festival and Party in the Park, the place to be is at the Big Gig – a sell-out pop concert for Guides and Girlguiding members aged 10 and up.

Grantham North District of Girlguiding covers the villages North of Grantham – Barrowby, Barkston, Foston, Caythorpe, Long Bennington and Wilsford – with groups ranging from Rainbows to Brownies, up to Guides and Senior Section.

Girlguiding is always looking for news members to join them, and the opportunities are endless with upcoming events such as the Big Gig on October 10, which this year will feature artists such as Ella Henderson and Nathan Sykes.

Enjoy fun days out with your friends as Twinlakes, Legoland and Cadbury’s World, alongside the chance to go on an international trip.

Girlguides also take part in the St George’s Day Parade with Grantham Scouts and the other three districts of Girlguiding.

To become a member all you need to do is visit the website at www.girlguiding.org.uk and clock on ‘get involved’. A leader will then get in contact with you and discuss joining. You can also telephone 0800 1695 901.

For more information about the Big Gig, if you’re already part of the Girlguiding community, visit the website at http://new.girlguiding.org.uk/big-gig/

Adults can also become members of the Girlguides too, with the chance to learn some great skills including first aid, leadership and working with children and young people.
