Dog owners are being urged to take their pets along to a Go Walkies event which is raising money for the Guide Dogs charity.

The Grantham branch of the charity has organised the sponsored dog walk on Sunday, September 8, along the Grantham Riverside Walk to Wyndham Park. The walk begins at 2pm and registration starts at 1pm.

Organiser Carol Brown said: “I’m really hoping to get lots of support for our Go Walkies for Guide Dogs event. There are loads of ways people can get involved - sign up with your own dog, borrow a dog, share a dog or even dress up as a dog and get sponsored.”

Walkers who take part can register to win six months’ supply of Eukanuba Dog Food.

Carol said: “I’ve chosen to support Guide Dogs by organising this event because I think the life-changing independence their work gives to thousands of blind and partially-sighted people is amazing.”

If you can’t make the event, you can still
sponsor Nuba, a puppy who is the official mascot of the event. He has already raised nearly £2000. You can visit his fundraising page at www.virginmoneygiving.com/gowalkies
