Students at Priory Ruskin Academy in Grantham raised 700 on Red Nose Day.

The Priory Ruskin Academy raised more than £700 for Comic relief on Friday.

The day was coordinated by Knight House, who sold red noses, ran a cake sale and challenged tutor groups to fill as many smarties tubes as possible with 20p coins.

The school gave a special mention to Miss Dewar’s and Mr Picton’s tutor groups who both raised more than £50 filling their Smarties tubes.

Vicki Geeson, Community Manager at the Academy, said: “We are overwhelmed, once again, by the generous spirit of the Ruskin community. A huge thank you to Sainsbury’s in Grantham who supported us with this fund-raising event, donating tubes of Smarties and a huge box of cookies to sell in the cake sale.”
