Grantham arrests after police helicopter used to track down men who ran from scene

Three men and a teenager were arrested near Grantham overnight on suspicion of the theft of a vehicle from Leeds.

A helicopter and a police dog were used to track down the men after they were seen acting suspiciously near the A1 at Great Gonerby.

Police officers tracked the men after they ran from the scene. A fourth male was arrested three hours later. Their ages are 24, 21, 19 and 15.

The men were arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle from Leeds on behalf of West Yorkshire Police. The three older males have been bailed to return to Grantham Police Station.

Two of the men have also been charged with possession of cannabis on August 21, 2016, in Harworth, Nottinghamshire. They have been released on unconditional bail to Nottingham Magistrates Court on February 27. The 15-year-old has been released on bail to return to Grantham Police Station for the theft of a vehicle offence. He is wanted on two warrants issued by Leeds Magistrates Court and will appear there tomorrow. He has also been arrested and bailed to return to Grantham Police Station for an harassment offence.
