An event aimed at boosting local business takes place at Arena UK next week – and it is open to all.

The Grantham Business Club (GBC) will host GBCExpo 2017 on Thursday, July 13, at the Allington venue, where businesses from the town and surrounding villages can put themselves centre stage.

More than 35 stands have been booked up and a few more are available.

It is a chance to showcase your business, not only to other businesses and potential clients, but members of the public who are also welcome to attend.

The Expo takes place from 5pm to 9pm.

GBC chairman Andrew Hodgson said the event should be a big boost for local business.

He added: “The event was originally done by the Chamber of Trade and this is our modern version. It is open to every kind of business, from small retailers to micro businesses to the larger companies. And it’s not just for business club members – anybody can come along.”

As part of the expo there will also be demonstrations by businesses and a talk by Paralympic dressage rider and motivational speaker Emma Sheardown about overcoming adversity.

Charities, clubs and societies are also invited to take up a stand and South Kesteven District Council will also have a presence at the event. Members of the public are invited to go along and look around the business stands and meet members of the business community.

Mr Hodgson said: “We are banging the drum for Grantham. I would ask people to come along and see what the town has to offer. ”

Tickets for a stand cost £20 and entry for visitors is £10, including a buffet. To book a stand call Mr Hodgson on 01476 569528 (deadline is today). To book visitor tickets go to www.eventbrite.co.uk and search for Grantham Business Club.
