Two colleagues from Grantham are in for quite an adventure when they walk 100 miles from Grantham to Hemel Hempstead - dressed as Hobbits.
Marc Paton and Mark Reid, who work together at Damasco in Hollis Road, Grantham, will be joined by two customers as they aim to raised more than £2,500 for Age UK and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
Marc Paton, the Damasco Sales Manager, said “The idea came about after a few drinks with a couple of our contacts at one of our customers, Wickes.
“We were talking about the film The Hobbit and before we knew it we had decided to try to raise some money for charity with a sponsored walk.
“We wanted to tackle something challenging so a walk from our factory to our customers seemed appropriate.
“We thought it would be fun to dress as characters from The Hobbit and so nicknamed the walk “The Hobble”.”
The walk is expected to take between 35 and 40 hours and will take place on Saturday, September 7.
