A care home has raised money for an armed services charity by taking part in the Big Brew Up fundraiser.
Avery Lodge Care Home staff and residents took part in the Big Brew up tea party to help raise money for the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Families Association.
Recreation coordinator Robyn Cummins said: “This charity is close the hearts of many of our residents in the home as they have lived through being in the war or losing close family members. Lewis Renchaw, a WW2 veteran, delivered a speech of his memories of the war and all were intrigued by his amazing and detailed stories which many people were able to relate to.
“The Army Surplus store donated memorabilia from the war which promoted conversation and memories for our residents. We are continuing to raise money throughout November for this great cause.”
