Grantham Carnival parade gets the party started

Grantham Carnival is under way after large crowds lined the High Street to see the parade.

Schools, bands, dignitaries, clubs and classic vehicles all took part in today's spectacle.

The fun continues over the next two days with stalls, a fun fair and arena acts in Wyndham Park. Tonight is the Party in the Park with local band The System supporting Status Quo tribute band Counterfeit Quo.

The Journal will have a special carnival section next week full of pictures and stories from the event.

Enjoy the carnival!
