The lights in St Wulfram’s Church will go out on Saturday to mark the World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour.

The lights will be turned off for one hour from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. Earth Hour is a worldwide grassroots movement by WWF to unite people to take action for the planet. The lights-off event started in Sydney, Australia, in 2007. Since then it has grown to engage hundreds of millions of individuals and organisations in more than 7,000 cities and towns in more than 160 countries and territories worldwide.

Fr Stuart Cradduck, The Rector of Grantham, said: “We are always keen to participate in such important global initiatives and hope other venues can join in too.”

Everyone in Grantham is urged to join in Earth Hour 2015. You can find out more at www.earthhour.org
