Grantham court: Car break-down prevents court appearance

Court news.
Court news.

A man from Bromley missed his Grantham court hearing to answer charges of class A and class C drugs possession, because his car had broken down.

Adam Atkin, 43, of Glenbow Road, Bromley, Lewisham, is accused of having 0.25g of cocaine and 1.76g of phenazepam on the A1 at South Witham on May 6.

However, Atkin contacted Grantham Magistrates’ Court where he was due on Monday to say that he couldn’t make it because his car had broken down on the way and he had to be towed back home.

His case has been adjourned until September 17, with Atkin remaining on unconditional bail.
