Eight men appeared at Grantham magistrates court, all charged with causing a public nuisance by holding a large unauthorised gathering on private land, where loud music was played.

The illegal rave is said to have taken place in Dunsby, Bourne, between January 24 and 27.

The defendants are Sam Curtis (22) of Kings Lynn, Joshua Lake (21), of Sutton St James, Luke Onslow (22), of Gedney Drove End, Mark Payne (37), from Holbeach, Matthew Wilds (21), of Metheringham, and from Long Sutton Ashley Box (20), Kyle Perrot (19), and Liam Robinson (21).

Three of the men, Lake, Box and Perrot, are also charged with acquiring, using or possessing criminal property in the form of cash, on January 26.

No pleas were entered and the case was adjourned.

Some of the charges may need to be heard at a crown court.

The case will next come before magistrates in Boston on November 19.
