Grantham court: Failure to stop after road traffic accident charge denied by motorist

Court news.
Court news.

A Redmile resident has denied failing to stop after a road accident and two other driving offences they stand accused of committing in Grantham.

Three not guilty pleas were entered by 31-year-old Johann Barnard of Church Corner, Redmile in relation to a road accident reported to have taken place on Harris Way, Grantham on November 26.

Barnard is charged with being the driver and failing to stop after the accident, failing to report the accident, and failing to provide a blood specimen for analysis.

He is alleged to have been the driver of a BMW which damaged a Harris Way property’s garden wall.

Chris Pye-Smith, defending, requested for additional evidence to be provided, ahead of a trial at Grantham scheduled for April 8. Barnard remains on unconditional bail.
