A wife suffered minor injuries after she was pushed by her husband during an argument.

Mukund Parekh, 35, of Walton Gardens, Grantham, admitted assault by beating on April 27.

Prosecuting, Daniel Pietryka said there had been an argument between Parekh and his wife who was pushed towards a sofa. She struck her arm and suffered some grazing. She called the police.

Julian Sheen, defending, said Parekh had co-operated fully with the police. Although the victim called the police she did not wish to make a statement and the couple were still together.

Mr Sheen added: “Mr Parekh understands his wrongdoing. They have been able to reconcile their differences.

“They both got quite heated and he pushed her. She stumbled and hurt her arm. She reported this to the police.

“He is very remorseful and is quite anxious about these proceedings.”

Magistrates gave Parekh a conditional discharge for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
