Grantham court: Man, 61, denies sexual assault charge

A 61-year-old has denied committing sexual assault on a fellow train passenger and elected to have his case heard at crown court.

Melvyn Dyer of Yarmouth Road, Lowestoft, pleaded not guilty to committing sexual assualt on a woman aged 16 or over on a train travelling through Grantham on December 11.

Magistrates accepted jurisdiction for the case, but Dyer elected for it to go before Lincoln Crown Court starting on February 23.

Dyer remains on conditional bail and must not enter Grantham except for court appearances, and must not travel on any trains which go through the town.
