A 33-year-old mother from Burnley has been charged with neglecting four children while she was living in Grantham.

The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, faces four counts of committing ill-treatment or neglect between January 1, 2014 and December 18, 2014.

However during her appearance at Grantham magistrates the crown prosecution service applied for an adjournement so that further evidence from social services could be obtained.

The case has been adjourned until May 11, with the defendant remaining on conditional bail.

She must not contact any child under the age of 16 years, unless authorised by children’s service.
