Grantham court: Request for two assault co-defendants to be cautioned

Court news.
Court news.

Two co-defendants appeared charged with committing common assault on the same person on December 20.

Michael Chaldecott, aged 19, of Chapel Street, Barkestone-le-Vale and Jack Croft, aged 22, of Gonerby Road, Grantham appeared before magistrates.

Defending both, Stuart Wild said that they had been interviewed without legal representation and given that neither had any previous convictions and the remorse shown they would normally expect a caution.

Prosecutor Marie Stace also supported Mr Wild’s request for an adjournment, and magistrates agreed to adjourn the case until March 2 with the two defendants remaining on unconditional bail.
