Court news.
Court news.

During a night out, a Grantham man was arrested for being verbally abusive to staff at Best Kebab on London Road.

Tafara Washoma, 34, of Harlaxton Road, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour, as well as to possessing cannabis.

Police were called to the takeaway at 10.50pm on February 17, after reports of a man, identified as Washoma, causing trouble. At the police station, he was strip searched.

Sonia Bhalla, defending, said that on the night in question Washoma had been drinking for the first time in months.

She added that Washoma was thoroughly ashamed of his behaviour, and added that the £10 worth of cannabis was for his own personal use.

Washoma was fined a total of £110, and must also pay £50 towards prosecution costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
