Grantham court: Shoplifter stole drill and perfume

A shoplifter has admitted two counts of theft from a shop and will face sentence after the Probation Service has prepared a pre-sentence report.

Tony John Bateman, 38, pleaded guilty to stealing a cordless combi drill worth £98 from B&Q in Grantham on August 8, and to stealing two bottles of perfume worth £95.50 from Asda in Grantham on September 13.

Bateman, of Falcon Court, Grantham, will reappear at Grantham Magistrates’ Court on November 9. He was granted bail with conditions not to enter B&Q or Asda in the town.
