A Grantham teenager was arrested after drunkenly shadow-boxing and ‘generally making a nuisance of himself’ in Grantham town centre.

George Marshall, 18, of Walton Gardens, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Market Place on May 3.

Jim Clare, prosecuting, said officers noticed Marshall drunkenly raising his arms with his fists clenched and ‘shadow-boxing’ around bystanders in the early hours.

“He was generally making a nuisance of himself,” said Mr Clare. Police told him to leave the area, but instead he was seen having an altercation with a couple, again raising his arms and clenching his fists, before being chased away by the female.

He was arrested.

Marshall appeared in court unrepresented and said: “I’m sorry for it now. It’s not going to happen again. I was just drunk.”

Along with the 12-month conditional discharge, Marshall must pay a £150 criminal court charge, £85 in prosecution costs, and a £15 victim surcharge.
