Court news.
Court news.

A 18-year-old pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly during a night out with friends.

Prosecutor Marie Stace described how Jake Wood of Sidney Street, Grantham, started causing trouble around midnight on February 7 outside the Late Lounge.

Wood was trying to gain entry to the nightspot and became confrontational in his attempts to do so.

Miss Stace said that one of the door staff struck Wood to the face, who himself started to throw punches before he was arrested by police.

He was charged with being drunk and disorderly.

Representing himself in court, Wood said that he had drunk too much and admitted: “things got out of hand.”

Magistrates gave Wood a conditional discharge, lasting 12 months, and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £85 as well as a £15 victim surcharge.
