Grantham court: Town centre driving offences alleged

Court news.
Court news.

A Sheffield man accused of driving up Castlegate the wrong way has had his case adjourned.

Scott Brooks, aged 32, of Rainbow Avenue, is charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously, whilst disqualified, and failing to stop when required by a constable.

The offences are alleged to have been committed on November 26 in a Vauxhall Corsa while driving up St Peter’s Hill and Castlegate.

However both prosecutor Jim Clare and Rob Arthur, defending, asked for the case to be adjourned so that the CCTV could be reviewed in case there needed to be changes to the charges.

The case is now scheduled to come before Grantham magistrates again on December 29, with Brooks remaining on conditional bail not to sit in the front seat of any mechanically propelled vehicle.
