A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Long Bennington man charged with stealing boots and a T-shirt from a Grantham store.

Mark Anthony Wilson, aged 34, of Winters Lane, Long Bennington, did not appear in court to answer the charge of taking items valued at £28.98 from Select in the Isaac Newton Centre on December 15.

The case had orginally been listed for January 12 but Wilson provided a fortnight’s sick note following key hole surgery to his knee, the court heard.

However as no reason for his absence on Monday had been received by the court, a warrant not backed for bail was issued.
