A 57-year-old woman charged with fraudently using a couple’s bank card to make purchases valued in excess of £70,000 has denied the charge.

Jayne Breckons, of Berrybut Way, Stamford, who was temporarily employed at Walton Girls’ High School in Grantham, pleaded not guilty when she appeared before Grantham magistrates.

She is alleged to have used the couple’s bank card without their permssion between November 20, 2012 and December 30, 2013.

As the case was not suitable for trial by magistrates, the case was sent to Lincoln Crown Court, starting with a preliminary hearing on July 6.

Breckons remains on conditional bail not to contact directly or indirectly the couple and other named witnesses.
