The court heard how a man grabbed and headbutted a woman holding a baby in front of other families at Grantham’s bowling alley.
Nathan Clark, 35, of Stafford Avenue, Balderton, pleaded guilty to assault by beating against a woman on September 26.
Prosecutor Daniel Pietryka, described how the assault took place at Grantham Bowl following a verbal argument between Clark and the victim.
Clark then grabbed the woman at the back of her neck before headbutting her while she was still holding a baby in her arms.
The attack which was seen by others including young children, made the victim stumble backwards and resulted in reddening to her nose and face.
Clark was arrested and during interview said he was “wound up at the time”.
Representing Clark, Julian Bruce said that there was “no excuse” for his client’s actions, but that there were mitigating circumstances and he had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.
Clark’s sentencing has been adjourned so that a report can be prepared on him by the Probation Service. He remains on bail with conditions including not to contact the victim and not to attend the victim’s address.
