This week will be one for double celebrations, hope trustees of the Grantham Disabled Children Society.

They have now reached the £15,000 mark in their quest to raise £20,000 to send 18 families with disabled children on a three-night trip to Disneyland Paris on September 28.

Trustees Kaz and Nic Smith and Micky Stokes said they are “ecstatic” to be almost there.

And by midnight on Saturday, they should have passed the finish line, as in the evening will be the final fund-raiser. Grantham Business Club will host a James Bond-themed evening – complete with fast cars, cocktails, a casino and laser shooting – and has pledged to raise the final £5,000.

Tickets, at £45 each of a table of 10 for £400, are still available for the fund-raiser at the Urban Hotel Grantham. They include a three-course dinner with drink on entry and wine on tables. To book, email amberkitching950@gmail.com
