A care firm which looks after people in their own homes has opened an office in Grantham, creating 30 jobs.

Bluebird Care will open its office in Autumn Park Business Centre off Dysart Road. It will be offically opened by the Mayor of Grantham, Coun Mike Cook, on June 30.

Directors John, Yvonne and Victoria Webber felt compelled to start the company after having a bad experience of care in their own family and decided to try and make a difference. They set up the business six years ago in Lincoln and North East Lincolnshire.

After an increase in referrals from the south of Lincolnshire including Grantham, Boston and surrounding villages, the Webber family has decided to expand into the south of the county.

Victoria said: “We make sure our customers have the best care and want to enable the people of South Lincolnshire to have the same. Our staff treat all our customers how they would want to be treated. We’ve got around 200 people that we care for, with eighty-plus staff, going to people’s homes to keep them out of a care home; helping them to remain as independent as possible. It’s very person centred and always about the individual.”

The dedicated teams at Lincoln and NE Lincolnshire, have had their CQC (Care Quality Commission) inspection which rated them as good.

The organisation is also a finalist in the British Franchise Awards 2017.

Victoria said: “To be named a finalist for such a prestigious award is a great achievement and we look forward to the announcement of the winner at the end of June. We have introduced the Bluebird Care Awards to reward the staff themselves and make sure they know they are appreciated.”

The Grantham Office will be run by care manager Fay Johnson and covers South Kesteven, South Holland and Boston.

The office will be open Monday to Friday and there is also a dedicated 24 hour on-call service.
