The family of a 19-year-old who died following a road accident on Thursday night has paid tribute to him.

Josh Davies was a passenger in a car which was being driven along High Road near Londonthorpe. The driver of the car, Shaun Durham, 20, also died after the crash.

The family said: “It is with great sadness that we announce that Joshua Davies lost his battle for life on Saturday evening following a road traffic collision with his dear friend Shaun on Thursday night.

“Josh was a much loved and popular local lad who was a huge motorcycling enthusiast and a willing apprentice at Central Motors in Grantham. It seems everyone our beautiful son knew he touched in very different ways and as a son and brother he was one in a million. The family have taken deep comfort from all of the beautiful messages they have received.

“We, as a family, want to send our heartfelt condolences to Shaun’s family. As broken as we are we take comfort in the fact that they spent a lot of time together in life and are now resting in peace with each other. Rest easy now Josh and Shaun, love from us all.”

Emergency services were called to High Road, Londonthorpe, at 11.35pm on Thursday after a black Toyota Yaris left the road and overturned.

Police are asking for any witnesses who saw the Yaris being driven before the incident, or who saw the collision itself, to call 101, quoting incident number 504 of June 8.
