Two members of Grantham Athletic Club will run the London Marathon just as they did last year.

Julie Stewart and Trudy Hanson ran last year to mark their 50th birthdays.

Julie said: “I did not intend to run another marathon after last year but in May last year my husband’s twin brother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the age of 52.

“It has been and is still a difficult time for all the family. I decided to run the marathon again and raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.” To donate go to www.justgiving.co.uk/Julie-Stewart9

Trudy is running to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research.

Trudy has run half marathons over the years and raised money for other charities including MND, Parkinson’s, MS, and Help for Heroes. Last year she ran The London Marathon for the first time and raised £1,400 for bowel cancer.

This is Trudy’s second and last marathon, and she has chosen Leukaemia and Lymphoma in memory of her mum Joan Brooks who passed away in 2000.
