Walton Girls’ School has joined a multi-academy trust to increase opportunities for its students.

The school says the partnership with the Diverse Academies Learning Partnership (DALP) strengthens Walton’s commitment to driving academic excellence.

It said the move puts Walton at the heart of the Trust. Its close geographical proximity will bring significant advantages and it is proud to be working alongside outstanding schools and the highly regarded Trent Valley Teaching School Alliance.

Principal Caroline Saxelby said: “This is great news for our Academy. The values of the Trust are in line with our core values. Our shared high aspirations for the students in our care as well as the communities we serve, will mean that our vision for Walton as an outstanding secondary school is more achievable than ever.

“We are very excited about the possibilities this partnership brings. Walton joining the Trust means it has joined a group of schools as a key partner. It will become part of a network of support where there are professional opportunities for the staff and educational opportunities for the students that go beyond those possible as a stand-alone academy. These are very exciting times for education in our area.”

The school will hold an open evening on Tuesday, June 28, from 5.30pm to 8pm. For more details go to www.waltongirls.co.uk
