Workers from various areas in Grantham Hospital have been nominated for this year’s staff awards.

Staff from the A&E unit, the wards and administration at Grantham are among the 44 individuals and teams who have been put forward for the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust Staff Awards 2017.

The A&E team and the portering team at Grantham Hospital have been put forward for the Caring Together award.

Ward 6 at Grantham has been nominated for the Team of the Year - Clinical. Tracey Fisher, a staff nurse in Outpatients, Debbie Tilbury, a healthcare support worker in A&E and Sonya Sargent, a porter at Grantham, have all been nomintaed for the Care, Compassion and Respect award.

Jacqueline Padgett, an administrator at Grantham Hospital, has also been put forward for the Unsung Heroes - Support Services award.

The shortlisted individuals and teams have been invited to the awards ceremony at the Epic Centre at the Lincolnshire Showground to be held on Thursday, May 4.

Trust Chair Dean Fathers said: “The daily challenges that the staff at ULHT face are significant and they do an incredible job as a matter of routine. I am proud of them, and these awards are our way of recognising those that go beyond the norm, deliver amazing results and confidence to those people we serve, the people of Lincolnshire.

“All those nominated deserve their place in the shortlist, but one very special person has gone even further and will win the Chair’s Award. I can’t wait to see their face on the night.”
