A hustings event due to take place at St Wulfram’s Church in Grantham has been postponed.

The hustings was due to take place this Wednesday, involving all six General Election candidates contesting the Grantham and Stamford seat.

But the event has been put back a week to Wednesday, May 31. It will take place from 7.30pm to 9pm.

The candidates are Nick Boles (Conservative), Barrie Fairbairn (Labour), Anita Hill (Liberal Democrat), Marietta King (UKIP), Dr Tariq Mahmood (Independent) and Rebecca Thackray (Green).

Fr Stuart Cradduck, rector of St Wulfram’s, will host the event. He told the Journal: “I will ask each candidate an opening question each, to which only the candidate to whom the question is directed will be able to answer. Then we will flow on to questions from the floor.”

Fr Stuart would like questions before the event and these can be sent to his email address: rector@stwulframs.com

Not every question will be able to be asked, but the questions will be pooled to cover as many different issues as possible.

Everyone is welcome to attend the hustings.
