Grantham independent shop The White Robin to close this month
An interior design shop which opened in Grantham about six years ago is to close at the end of the month.
The White Robin Emporium, on Westgate, is holding a closing down sale before the shop closes at the end of January. There is a discount of 25 per cent off everything in the shop.
According to its owners, the shop is closing for family reasons. It is run by mother and daughter Rachel Kerry and Rebecca Bullock.
Although the shop will close, both mother and daughter will continue to sell online. Rachel will be continuing jewellery and gift ranges while Rebecca will sell vintage and antique items.
Rachel said: “We have a lot of loyal local customers so we are sorry to see the shop go, but I am having to give it up for personal reasons. It is a very sad time but onwards and upwards.
“I would like to thank all our customers. They have been so loyal and supportive.”
Eighteen months ago the shop moved from number 28 Westgate down the road to number 8-9, the former Simmonds Music Shop, so it could make use of more space.
The shop has run concession space where people have been able to sell their own items.
The White Robin also became known for selling a range of ‘I’m terribly Posh, I’m from Grantham’ items.
