Grantham Journal letter: Compassionate hospital staff at Grantham

On a Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago I was feeling rather poorly with a very high temperature.

We phoned the 111 service, they said I needed to see a doctor within two hours but had no appointments.

Then a doctor phoned and asked more questions. We were told to go to the out-of-hours department for 9pm.

I was treated swiftly with kindness and compassion. We were home again in just over the hour.

How much better than going to either Lincoln or Nottingham A&E in the cold and dark, then having to wait for hours to be seen.

So many thanks to Grantham Hospital and staff, keep up the good work.
