Grantham Journal letter: Concert was just wonderful

We would like to give our belated thanks through this letter to the Hi-Notes singers, acoustic guitarist Nigel Truman, and the Sidesteppers Dancers, for putting together”Mostly Musicals” – a wonderful concert held in the Guildhall on Saturday, 3rd. October in aid of Grantham Volunteer Dementia Support.

The programme was so very varied, and the dancers added to the visual enjoyment of songs from West Side Story, My Fair Lady, and Les Miserables, to name but a few. Nigel played beautifully well-known tunes, as-well as a couple written by himself. It was an especially poignant evening as sadly, on the previous Tuesday, the founder member of Hi-Notes Ian Saddington, passed away after a long illness, and Yvonne Eldred who was co-founder with Ian, travelled specially up from the south to sing in the concert.

Special thanks also go to Bex Mezzo and Hayley Hill whose dedicated hard work went into organising everything for us, including publicity and raffle prize donation. Last, but not least, a big thank you to those in the audience who helped raise £490.54.

The GVDS Team,

Janet Leeson, Ann Spriggs, Beryl Gibbs, Val Newton, Rose Sharpe, and Bridget Warne.
