Grantham Journal letter: Customers helped us raise £970

Our heartfelt thanks go to the lovely Sainsbury’s customers who donated to our collection held at the Grantham store on Saturday and Sunday November 29 and 30.

We met some wonderful people and were impressed with their interest in and knowledge about what Guide Dogs can do not only for the severely sight impaired, but autistic children and the service offered by the Sighted Guiding service. Guide Dogs have recently reduced the age limit for owning a Guide Dog and many younger people now have dogs enabling them to integrate at school or college and be safer away from home.

Thanks to the management and staff at Sainsbury’s for supporting us and allowing us access to the store. We raised in excess of £970, which is a magnificent total – thank-you to everyone who contributed.

We wish all our friends and supporters in the Grantham area a very Happy Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

We are always pleased to welcome new volunteers – more information can be obtained from guidedogs.org.uk/volunteering, or call 01476 569699 and speak to Ed or Carol if you would like to know more.
