Grantham Journal Letter: Grantham people are indifferent to a statue of Thatcher

Have your say

The figures given in answer to my inquiry regarding the poll for/against the proposed Thatcher statue, reveal that out of a total population of 42,000, only 120 people feel strongly enough to vote in favour of a statue.

Presumably, apart from the “significant” number (30 per cent of votes cast) who voted for no statue, the rest of Grantham is totally indifferent. On that basis, if 120 people wanted the Guildhall painted bright yellow, would it be considered?

I would suggest that the 120 people who want a statue should pay for it themselves.
