Grantham Journal letter: Grateful for help of volunteers

Volunteers at work in Wyndham Park, Grantham.

Thank you to the slightly different group of volunteers who turned out on Saturday to continue painting the pergola around the paddling pool.

We were even joined by someone who had seen the piece in the paper and wanted to help.

There is still a little bit more to do: eight pillars and the corresponding cross beams – which at the previous work rate whould be six to eight man hours.

If we have the same number of volunteers it will be no more than an hour each! Due to the slightly colder week in store and other commitments – including a Rivercare clean-up (Saturday, March 7), we have had to plan the final painting session for Sunday, March 15 from 9.30am. We appreciate it is Mothering Sunday – and people may have other commitments – but anyone who wants to join us should turn up suitably dressed and will be most welcome.

For all information and details of other opportunities to join in, see www.wyndhamparkgrantham.org.uk.
